'HERLEEF EN LAAT JE ZIEN'
7,2m x 2,5m x 2m, metal, sheep wool, leather, ropes and mirrors
‘ This hanging cocoon by Marloes Elbertse connects the different levels in the Singel (the corridor) with each other. Hanging right in between elevators B and C, this artwork represents a bridge between the closed and open departments, from the top level floor down to the first floor. Primarily, a cocoon is a closed encasement, but Marloes deliberately chose to show the Inside to the public in a very subtle manner. The heart of the cocoon is now visible from two sides. Exactly like Marloes gives the beholder the chance to see her of himself.’
